New Zeiss Conquest HD 10X42 $669.99 Net

Here is a great deal on a new Zeiss Conquest HD 10X42 from Optics Planet.

The Conquest HD is currently selling for $999.99 at Eagle Optic, B & H Photo and other Zeiss dealers.

Sale Price this morning at Optics Planet for the Zeiss Conquest HD 10X42 is $799.99

http://www.opticsplanet.com/zeiss-10x42-conquest-hd-waterproof-binoculars.html

Ten percent off coupon for $80 at time of checkout is TAKE10.

Zeiss Field Days VISA Prepaid card rebate is $50. This ends TOMORROW, Nov. 19th, 2016.
Per a call to Zeiss this morning, Optics Planet is a valid dealer.

$799.99 sales price less the 10% coupon of $80 give $719.99 purchase price less $50 Zeiss Visa Prepaid card rebate nets to $669.99 final cost. Free shipping is offered.

The Zeiss Conquest HD line is in my opinion near alpha quality. Other popular binoculars in the normal price range are the Leica Trinovid and the Vortex Razor. For my preferences, the Conquest is the better binocular compared to the Trinovid. I haven't had enough experience with the Razor to have a strong opinion but my initial impression is it is not better optically, but does have an exceptional wide FOV. The Razor sells for $1,200. One other I would consider (but have not seen) is the new Tract Toric at $664 (no case), but they are out of stock until at least March of next year. A quality binocular such as the Zeiss Conquest 10X42 for $669.99 is an exceptional deal.

Most of the comments on the forum say the Conquest line has excellent optics and they seem to be very well built. The biggest complaint has been about the eye cups, which some have said were a little short in relation to the eye relief. This is mainly mentioned in relation to the 8X42. Zeiss offers a free replacement eye cup that is slightly longer for those that desire it.

The Trac Toric 10x42 is at least as good if not better than the Zeiss Conquest 10x42 for less money. Compare them both carefully.

Dennis,

1) Have you ever compared the Conquest and the Toric directly in a 10X42? Have you ever looked though a Toric 1042? If so, would you please start a new thread on the 10X42 Toric and post you thoughts.

2) The 10X42 Toric is not available until at least next March, 2017, and even if it was, the Zeiss offer is still an excellent deal for those that want one.

I do not think this is the thread for another one of those my binocular is the best in the world. However, if you that topic interests you, please feel free to start a new thread for that discussion and I will join you there.

By the way, it is "Tract", not "Trac".

Thanks.

I have compared the Tract 8x42 to the Zeiss Conquest 8x42 HD and there was no contest with the Tract being better optically than the Zeiss Conquest. Outdoor Life thought the Tract Toric 10x42 by far the best value in 10x42's so I it is a pretty fair assumption that the 10x42 Trac will outperform the Zeiss Conquest 10x42 HD. The Tract also has better ergonomics being much slimmer and better in the hand than the fat Conquest and also having a much better and smoother focus. There is a reason the Tract is sold out. To me it is a no brainer which one to buy.

All these wonder binoculars.

When I actually test them, there are inevitably some negative points, however good they may be overall.

I have never tested a perfect binocular and doubt that it has ever existed.

Some binoculars are indeed very good, especially selected ones or specials.

The Monarch 8x42 HG that I tested I suspect may have more CA than it should. And it has bad ghosting/flaring from lights just outside the field of view. The view is very bright. It has strong points, but for me it is very disappointing.
When I see tests here of the 10x42 HG version I cannot believe it is the brother of my 8x42 HG. But it could be that the 10x indeed has little CA and no ghosting. Maybe Nikon have improved CA on these binoculars.

I understand that each person has different binocular needs and tests differently.

But as this thread is binocular bargains, that is a different matter entirely.

Just as I figured, Dennis has never seen the Toric 10X42 and is speculating. That would be fine in another thread.

Just for clarification, the Toric got the "Great Buy" designation. It was outperformed by the new Trinovid HD 10X42 which got the "Editors Choice" designation.

NEW THREAD

Dennis ..... Looks like you missed the suggestion to start a new thread to discuss the merits of the Toric as to not highjack this thread. So, I set one up for you ........

By the way, it is still Tract, not Trac.

Black Frriday-All Cabela's Brand Otics 25% Off

This is from the Cabela's upcoming Black Friday ad.

All Cabela's brand in stock optics 25% off. Sale starts Friday, Nov 25th at 5 AM and ends Nov 30th, 2016. Since the ad states "in stock", go early because some models will sell out soon.

The ad flyer is for in store sales so I do not know what the online pricing will be.

Vortex Diamondback 10x42 for $130 shipped.

This may be today only. Use code 6HOLIDAY for free shipping. I was tempted but I'm looking for something one step up in quality.

Amazon has started their sales as well. I saw Zeiss Terra HD 10x42s for $339 (they've been as low as $310, so that's not an incredible price.)

If anyone sees good deals on a 10x42 between $200-$400, let me know.

Vanguard Endeavor ED 8x42 is listed at Amazon for $207.18. With current $100 rebate from Vanguard this seems like a very good deal for just over $100. Note this is ED not ED II, but still quite well reviewed.
