Vanguard is offering a rebate on the Endeavor II's and IV's. $100 on the x42's and $80 on the x32's.

Currently Amazon has the 8X42 ED II's for $318 before rebate.

Optics Planet has the 10x42 ED II's for $359 before rebate, and I was able to find a 10% off coupon code on RetailMeNot to make them $324 before rebate.

These are the best prices I can recall seeing on the ED II's.

eBay store ASavings has the Bushnell Legend M 8x42 for $139 with free shipping. Not nearly as good as that rebate deal last year (I think my final price was under $100 after rebate), but still darn good for nice glass. I expect to see another 10-15% off coupon at eBay before Christmas as well.

Now that I own a pair, I can unequivocally say this is the best deal going in optics at the moment. I never thought I'd see an image quality like that for under $500, much less under $150. The Legend M 8x42's hang quite well with my Zeiss Conquest HD's and Swaro SLC's and my wife even selected the Legend M's over the Zeiss and Swaro's when given the choice.

Amazon is offering an additional 5% off the 8x42 Engage now. Final price after checkout is $128! As noted Bushnell CS told me the optics are the same as the M in a lighter frame. They also have a more advanced protective coating than the M. Both are oustanding values. Just depends on which style body you like better.

LL Beans 25% off sale end tomorrow. Cabelas has the Meopta Euro 8x32 for $675. The vortex Razor 8x42 for $675 and the Zeiss Conquest for $727! They are also offering free FedEx 2 day shipping. Might be today, Green Monday, only but I’m not sure about that.

The Cabelas deal gets even better. If you go through Active Junky you’ll get an additional 10 % rebate from them in a couple months. If you apply for a Cabelas visa you’ll get an additional $25 in club points which I think you can redeem at checkout. I know you can if you apply and buy at the store. Of course if you do that you can’t use the 10% Active Junky. Final price for the Conquests will be $630!

That’s it for today. I would love to take advantage of it. However I just had a $1,500 root canal and that tooth needs a $750 crown. Unfortunately they got the wrong tooth. The molar behind ic the real problem and needs to be removed and replaced with an implant for a mere 3k! No more whining but it’s seems to me I could buy a couple of Swaros and the Conquests for that!

Thanks for the heads up Upland. Do you have a link to Amazon's deal? I can't find it for under $200.

I just called Bushnell CS and got a quite different answer about the Legend M and Engage differences from the last time I called. The fellow i talked with this time said the M is a better binocular with better optics. When i pointed out that the description of the glass, prisms and coatings were the same he only said " I don't care i've looked through both and the M is better" Taking that for what it's worth, he did tell me one thing that is quite different. The M comes with a lifetime, no-fault warranty whereas the Engage comes with a limited warranty that only covers defects. The Engages warranty is called IronClad lifetime. Sounds good but it defines the lifetime of the binoculars as 20 years. It also does not cover misuse which does not sound like no-fault. I might return my Engages and buy the Ms although I like the smaller size and weight of the Engage.

PS If anyone ordered the Engage from Amazon and wants to cancel because of the above info, its quite easy. You simply sign into your account and click on orders and use the cancel order option. I just cancelled mine. If yours are shipped or you have received them, Amazon offers free returns. OK i'm posted out for today. Hope somebody took advantage of the screaming deals at Cabelas!

Upland, I think the size and ergonomics of the Engage bins is almost ideal, and remind me a lot of the newer Leica Trinovid HD's, which are just a joy in the hand. I'd actually pick the Engage over the Leicas if hard pressed. But I have to agree with the rep when he said the M's view is better. That's what I recall. For center "sweet spot" resolution, the M's are as good as anything I've looked through, including the Trinovid HD's, Conquest HD's and SLC's. That's really remarkable considering their price point and warranty.

I also like the size and frame of the Engage better. However if the M has a better view in addition to a no fault lifetime warranty it’s a way better deal in my opinion.
PS it looks like the Conquests at Cabelas sold out. I hope someone here got a pair. If not there’s a screaming deal on a like new pair of 8x32s in the classifieds
