Speaking of "$xxx off".....

The Celestron Granite line has a current promotion that takes off $70 to $100. This can be seen at places like Opticsplanet or B&H Photo. With OP's 10% off coupon code, this makes the 7x Granite $288, which is about $100 off the normal price.

Frank,

Thanks for pointing out the Amazon deal on the Vanguards.

I bought a pair of the 8x42s after Bob pointed them out. Vanguard paid the rebate promptly. The Endeavor EDs are are screaming bargain at $160. The optics are spectacular, build quality is impressive and the bins are down right handsome. My only complaint about them is that the focus is a bit faster than I would like.

Still, I was impressed enough that I just ordered the 10x42s.

Zeiss Terra ED at a very low price

Black Bear is advertising them for $303.

http://www.blackbearsportinggoods.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ELLZES5242050000&click=12"]http://www.blackbearsportinggoods.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=ELLZES5242050000&click=12

Anything one should know about them, as in caveat emptor, or are they known as a "reputable" dealer?

Thanks,

John

I do not know anything about Black Bear, but some of the better known internet vendors will price match.

Also keep in mind that Zeiss has a $20 rebate promotion right now until 9/30/2013. The vendor must be an authorized Zeiss dealer. If Black Bear is not, then try the price matching route.

Let us know how you like the Leupold.

I will. I have a 7x26 elite coming, just received a new replacement Opticron 8x32 HD Countryman from Chip for the defective one I purchased a few weeks ago & after reading the recent post about the revived 7x36 ED2/3 ? I just might have to order the Zen Ray also. I am not sure which ones I will be keeping .... I just wish I did not have to review my PayPal bill .... gwen

Celestron SkyMasters under $50

This was posted on the wrong thread. It was intended to go here in the binoculars bargains. OOPS, sorry about that~ mea culpa
===========================================
Every now again NBD(NoBetterDeal) will list binoculars in their Sporting Goods section...

At present there are two Celestron Skymasters for sale -- In case someone here, or perhaps, you know someone who might be interested. -- Everything in NBD is 13% off site-wide until midnight EST 9/28 -- use code: FALL13 [Keep in mind that these are open box items] I ordered a pair of Bushnell Legend Ultra HD's they had listed for $162. This was some time ago when they had them during a 20% off sale. Sadly they were received with a broken outer (hard plastic) diopter ring that was in little pieces(?). Everything else in the box was untouched. (?)-- As to warranty: not enough time to.... so, I moved on to look at different brand binoculars. On a personal note, I must say that my over all experience buying from NBD has been very positive. I poke around on their site every now and again. It's like an internet version of a Flea Market. They do have free return shipping. If you ask, they'll arrange to have UPS pick up your return from your front door.

Celestron SkyMaster Giant 15x70 Binoculars with Tripod Adapter for
$40(-13%) +$4.95 shipping -- http://www.nobetterdeal.com/shop/en...er-giant-15x70-binoculars-with-tripod-adapter

Celestron 71012 SkyMaster 20-100x70 Zoom Binoculars for $50(-13%) + $4.95 ship -- http://www.nobetterdeal.com/shop/en/nbd/celestron-71012-skymaster-20-100x70-zoom-binoculars

Also listed in the electronics/camera section is a...
Celestron Heavy-Duty Altazimuth Tripod (may or may not fit these these particular SkyMasters) for $58(-13%) + $3.95 shipping. -- http://www.nobetterdeal.com/shop/en/nbd/celestron-heavy-duty-altazimuth-tripod

I hope this proves helpful to someone here(or is it out there) in the binocular forum.

Zeiss Terra ED rebate

This is a heads up that the Zeiss Rebate ends 9/30/13 -- morning or midnight?? - how ever rebates work. Hope for the best on that one I guess.

I just bought a pair of the Terra's for $350 [-20 rebate] + a pair of the ZR ED3s (Open box for $330), with free shipping from Camera Land NY -- I highly recommend them, they're great to do business with... I very rarely go out of my way to make this type of recommendation. If you're looking to buy the Terra's, then this is the go to place. And thanks to whoever it was that mentioned they had the ZR ED3's as an open box item for $330.

Call them Monday and tell them that you're a member of the Bird Forum. I'll bet you did. Hint, hint, nudge, nudge, say no more. ;>)=

This promotion says the binocular must have been purchased between 7/11/2013 and 9/30/2013.

http://sportsoptics.zeiss.com/nature/en_us/experience/news/promotion.html

It doesn't apply for people who bought it prior to those dates--like me.:C

I got my 8x42 Terra ED on 5/30/2013 from Camera Land and then took the trouble to write the first review of it on Bird Forum on June 4th, 2013.

http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=258748

Why can't I get a $20.00 AMEX gift card? I paid full price for the binocular plus 10 more bucks for a case for it which I had to wait for because they were back ordered.
