Imagine a ruler with two adjustable binocular barrels mounted on it. Imagine what happens as you move the two barrels outward. They'd start jittering more as they move out, the ruler acting like a lever. On the other hand, the inertia of the barrels might increasingly dampen the shakes as they move outward as well.Theoretically, I don't know what it adds up to, but my Pentax 8x32 ED shakes less than the 8x32 SE and they're within 1/2 oz. of each other.</blockquote>
