Bird ID Help needed .
Pictures were taken 02/09/2021 at Drummer harbour Scotland.
Bird that I need ID for is third up from bottom of picture.
I was thinking it might be a spotted redshank but there does not appear to be any orange on bill
Second picture has been cropped.
Thanks for any help.Resize_20220218_162518_8421.jpgResize_20220218_162713_3651.jpg

Welcome to Birdforum B!
I think your mystery bird is another Common Redshank, its red leg is visible behind the back of the second from the bottom bird. I reckon it’s recently plunged its bill and neck deep into the mud so covering the red with mud.

You mean third up from the bottom, on the far left - neck stretched, facing right?
That's a (regular) redshank with a muddy bill. Spotted redshank is a paler greyer/whiter more-striking elegant thing.

I'm just going to jump in here and wish you a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)

Hi Baldoon and a warm welcome from me too.

All things Scottish can be found here. Keep an eye on threads titled Scottish Bashes, we used to have one or two meetings each year and they were all great fun. Maybe we'll be able to start them up again before too long.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.
