Bird id help - Tamilnadu, South India (1 Viewer)

Hi

I saw this bird flock at quite some distance this morning, near Chennai, South India. I was wondering if it is at all possible to ID the species. I was thinking some lark species, possibly sykes's short-toed lark(?), given the prominent whitish brow and throat band, but would really appreciate a confirmation/correction. Sorry about the really bad pics.

Thanks
Ajay

Yellow throated sparrow was my first thought. Don't have books with me to check though...

Edit: hadn't seen Jean's post. Skylark does match better.
