Ring-billed Gull They are commonly found near water bodies, such as lakes, rivers, and coastal areas, and are recognizable by their medium size, white head with light streaking (in non-breeding plumage), gray wings, and the distinctive black ring around their yellow bill.
Aside from the fact that it isn't a Ring-billed Gull, Slimbridge in Gloucestershire is in the UK, where Ring-billed Gull would be a very scarce sighting.
Therefore, the balance of probability is with the common UK species, i.e. Common Gull.
One of those instances where the location of the sighting is very important.
