Help needed with this shorebird. I am thiking a lesser yellowleg but my knowledge of shorebirds is quite limited.

There's a clue in the name you suggest. Your photo doesn't have yellow legs, so it's not a Lesser Yellowlegs. Structurally very different with a straight, narrow bill. This is a Calidris sandpiper & I think looks good for Curlew Sandpiper.

Could well be. I was torn between the two; presumably one of the longer billed races? I think bill length swayed me to CS.

Fairly medium-bill-length dunlin (even though dunlins in the Americas often seem very long-billed). Doesn't have the bill (length or shape) or the supercilium for curlew sandpiper.
