Back in 1996, I had one well south of Seydişehir, Turkey, that sang on a juniper-clad slope for quite some time. It mostly faced towards me, and through my scope I could see the throat feathering as it sang, but it had no white feathers on the throat. It was quite disconcerting...

Another variant mentioned by Shirihai & Svnsson (2018) concerns individuals that show a hint of a black border to the white throat patch but it can be quite obvious as illustrated here White-throated Robin Macaulay Library ML205498801
