Hello,

belayed welcome to Birdforum!

With an appearant all black bill and black legs I might be tempted to consider a Rock Pipit. But a very interesting thread came into my mind again:

Thanks again Andrew and all! And with this in mind I think its a Meadow Pipit:
  • complete lack of a malar stripe (yes, breeding plumage?)
  • well defined contrasting streaks to the mantle
  • pure white edges to outer tail
  • I think at least a bit of streaking/spots to the flanks should be visible here, despite bad angle to judge this
  • complete lack of an white eye-ring is bad for a Rock Pipit???
But I have never seen a Meadow Pipit with pure, nearly jet-black legs like here. No offense, but I think this might well be enhanced by phtographic circumstances and post-processing? I see a picture with just the right amount of sharpening to produce an asthetic pleasant interesting picture of a bird, especially to look at it on a screen. So an excellent portrait with an unsharp, not distracting, natural background, a sharp detailed bird, everything is there. Tfs! (But this doesnt help with ID here, no offense again).

Conclusion? Thanks Andrew once more: its a Meadow Pipit imo.
And can you add date and location please?
