whilst observing the rose coloured starling at Martin down, I saw this juvenile?
any ideas please.

I agree with Butty and you,
its a juvenile Dunnock.
Please note: ....
cant find the reason, but shape of bill, overall streaked underside (most similar streaking in a common bird seems surprisingly a Cirl Bunting), rufous-brown ear-coverts with greyish surrounding (cant write supercilium here)

Just to say a Cirl Bunting would be a major rarity on Martin Down & most of England away from south Devon & adjacent parts of Cornwall. Agree with juv Dunnock.
 
Sorry to Aeshna and Daan if my posting wasnt understandable (I am a non native speaker). My reference/comparison to a juvenile Cirl Bunting was only in regard to the streaking of the underparts/belly. Streaking of other common juvenile birds (Common Redstart, Robin, Thrushes, Yellowhammer) is different, while extent and shape of streaks of this Dunnock is similar to a juvenile Cirl Bunting.
