Bird natural wheat straw (1 Viewer)

Well-known member
What can I use other than natural wheat straw to put under the bird feeder? The problem with the wheat straw is that when it rains then it gets low and makes it look like there is barely anything there no matter how much I put and they increased the price for the 100% natural wheat straw I buy and under the wheat straw is no longer grass. It's just mud due to having to rake all of the old seeds. That's why I have to put a lot of wheat straw to cover it.

Can you not just leave the seeds on the ground for the ground feeding birds to eat?
