My sincerest apologies for again neglecting this thread! My excuses are being away for a week, GCSE's and Birdforum failing to send me updates!

Unforunately I do not have the time tonight, really, but I am putting a post-it on my pc screen for tomorrow.

Sorry!

David.

Don't worry about David. Your GCSE's are far more important.

I'm sure no-one would want you to fail your GCSE's for our geeky bird game! Update in your own time. :t:

NEW PLAYERS email [email protected] for a spreadsheet. If you want to take part in the competition on this thread, you have to post your totals here, it doesn't do it automatically! I have given out an awful lot of spreadsheets to people who said they wanted to take part in the scoreboard etc, but none of them have put their scores here. You have got to post your totals here if you want to play against other people!

Managed to scrape another two birds:-
Jack Snipe (25) at the London WWT Centre
Bittern (25) at Upton Warren
Total now 3870 points.
I have lost third place irrevocably and fourth is looking very difficult.
I just want to find one more bird to make 200 for the year, with one or two slim possibilities left.
Alan
(Probably my last year at this game.)

Thanks for the updates. It's neck and neck between Alan and Pete now!

I am getting to work now on revising the points, species list etc and the thread ready for next year will be up soon.

Figured out my self found bonuses and a few more additions take me to 2960 slef found birds include- Red-breasted Merganser, Hobby, Waxwing, Grasshopper Warbler and Pied Flycatcher

I have just worked out my self-found bonuses for this year too, that gives an extra 315 points. The best ones are Red-rumped Swallow, Richard's Pipit, and Ring-necked Duck.

That brings my score to 6900.

Also, I think you can probably guess my addition for today; Leach's Storm-petrel, so up to 6930.

P.S. just so you know, even though it is on my year list thread, I have not included Hooded Merganser on my original score!

I've had a tally up with what I've got so far, including adding a good number of self-finds, and my total should be 3900, including self-find bonuses for Red-breasted Merganser, Red Grouse, Grey Partridge, Shag, Hen Harrier, Hobby, Peregrine, Purple Sandpiper, Tree Pipit, Rock Pipit, Waxwing, Lesser Whitethroat and Spotted Flycatcher (I also scored myself too high for Great Grey Shrike and reduced this accordingly).

If anyone's wondering my workings out it's attached!

Actually it should be 3910 - I only gave myself 15 for R-B Merganser.
