I was in some backwaters of Lake Barkley in Eddyville Kentcky and heard this really nice call from a bird. Never could see the bird (was in a boat) but was able to get close enough to record it's call.
I did use the BirdNET app to try and identify the bird. It came back and said it was a Baltimore Oriole. I was really surprised at that. All of the Baltimore Orioles I have ever heard did not sound like this. I even went online and listened to over 20 Baltimore Orioles calls/sounds and none sounded like this.
I assume the BirdNET app uses an algorithm to make the identification and possibly missed it?.
Hopefully the WAV file uploads ok for you to hear. If not please let me know and I will try to correct.
