Today went Birding at Figgate Park it’s the first time I’ve been back since COVID started. when I arrived I was thinking I’m not going to be here long as there was no birds around, but the birds did turn up and I saw
1 Heron
1 Little Grebe
5 Moorhen
4 Cygnet
2 Mute Swan
1 Black Backed Gull
1 Black Headed Gull
2 Canada Goose
2 Magpie
4 Mallard
1 Great Spotted Woodpecker

Euan, it's funny how sometimes those low expectations are surpassed. Although it's true that it's the hope that kills you, the possibility that something exciting might be lurking in the next bush, or behind that tree is what makes birding such a great pastime.
