Birding in Peninsular Malaysia (1 Viewer)

We plan to spend 4 days in Peninsular Malaysia primarily for birding (in mid-December). Upon the completion of the trip, we plan to fly out of the Kuala Lumpur international airport late in the evening. With that in mind, what are some of the places that we could visit for birding. I have come across names of Kuala Selengor, Bukit Tinggi and Fraser's Hill. We will prefer taking a local guide and don't mind staying in these places. Will be grateful for your suggestions including names and contact details of guides. Thanks!

With 4 days you should have enough time to go to Taman Negara, which is one of Asia's premiere birding destinations but it's tropical evergreen forest so can be hard work. Bear in mind December is the wet season.
For a guide you could try Wilbur Goh. I don't know him personally but he's very well-regarded.

Fraser's hill was one of the best birding areas I have ever seen. Yes, Taman Negara is super interesting, for many reasons, but for birding, Fraser's hill wins.

Bukit Fraser and Bukit Tinggi are very good for 4 days. Kuala Selangor I found very hot but not really exceptional with birds.
