Birding In Phoenix, Arizona (1 Viewer)

My wife and I are thinking of going to Phoenix at beginning of April following a family visit to Kelowna in Canada. Understand there is a direct flight. Just wondering if this is a good time to go birding wise.

I would think so Keitha but you would be better posting this in the information wanted or USA state by state sections of this forum, unless you are wanting people to travel with you.

I hiked the Arizona Trail in 2017 (hiking from the Mexican border to Utah state line) from end of March to beginning of May, so roughly around the same time as your planned visit. I found it fantastic in terms of both scenery and birds (and some other animals too, snakes, Gila monster, etc). I simply hiked the trail, so I leave it to others to comment on specific locations that are good when visiting by car.

Even without a companion, Gilbert Water Ranch (Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch) is easily birdied on your own. Should be some decent activity there in early April.
