no sign of any geese in distress at westport today, it might have snapped the line and got free, or i might of missed it with there being hundreds of them there, but i saw all of them either swimming or walking ok as they were making away over to the grass by the park. had 5 LRPs there as well, 1 adult and 4 chicks, so obviously a family, thinking about it, is 4 chicks a good amount to have to fledgling size for the species?? early morning best time to see these at westport, i was there at 7, was the first and only person to disturb them and they flew off not long after, so no chance of seeing them if a dog walker gets there first.

more pics to come later.....hopefully

Stand back in amazement it's me Jim Morris, I'm sure you all remember me. I the one that spat his dummy out of the pram about 4 months ago and was never going to post on here again. Now that I am over my little tantrum I thought I had better get back on the forum as I'm sure that you have missed my down to earth approach.

Ok, thats my bit of humble pie over.

As some of you know I just had 6 weekes birding in Extremadura, Spain which gave me 25 new birds for my life list. Didn't get a photo of every one of them but did get photos of all my target birds Golden Oriole, Rollers, Bee-eaters, Rock Bunting and Woodlark Also got an unexpected Cuckoo in flight.

I'll share some of them with you all just to let you know what you are missing.

Happy birding
Jim

Hi Chris,

I saw the Redstart flying to and fro over the the fire track about 100 yards down. I think others have seen them here too.

Never seen Green Woodies there but then again I'm hopeless. So well done there.

Welcome back Jimmy boy, I for one have missed you on here. Keep posting those pictures you got from your trip, I know you've got loads of them. How about doing a report on your visit to Spain? Ring you soon. Neil.
PS: Give my best to Rose.

Thanks Rob, Craig

Yes, Stood where i met you Craig, scanned across could see something on one of the dead trees couldn't make it out very well, only had bins with me, saw it fly right into another dead tree on the edge so had a walk round just as the path starts climbing (somebody has had a campfire) saw something but it shot off waited a bit, GSW turned up and then Green W's.

Thanks Chris,
A bit quiet there this afternoon but old chap with dog told me he'd seen Green Woody down firetrack at the first crossroads. On the way home took Bent Lane towards Whitmore. Just beyond first farm there were a pair of Yellowhammers on telegraph wire

Cheers
