Birding lodge in Southern Mexico? (1 Viewer)

Hello all,

I’m planning a trip to Mexico to visit a friend in Mexico City, and hope to fit in a fair bit of birding. I can’t afford to hire a guide for the full two weeks, but something I have really enjoyed on previous trips is to stay a few nights at a birding lodge, the kind of place with bird feeders and substantial grounds to fill a few days of solo birding, while also having a relaxing time without travel or security stresses (eg the Ecolodge Itororo in the Atlantic Forest in Brazil).

Does anyone know of something like this within a few hours/short flight from Mexico City? I don’t speak Spanish and am a little nervous about the security risks of solo birding in the country, so would love to find a little birding oasis for the end of my trip.

Many thanks in advance!
