As regards the group cycling, i've noticed a big difference in attitude towards other road-users depending what sort of group it is. The road cycling group i used to go out with were a sporty bunch,which seemed to verge on outright aggression at times, but the local ctc da group are as laid back and relaxed about the whole matter as it's possible to be, and also friendlier towards motorists etc. but i totally agree with you that if you're polite, legal etc towards other road-users then (hopefully) that will filter through towards their attitude towards other cyclists</blockquote>
