I managed to get almost the entire flock in a few frames, which has allowed me to make a pretty good estimate of numbers - an impressive 50,000 or so. This is probably a little conservative, but won't be too far out. Its impressive to watch, so if you fancy a spectacle, and don't want to drive all the way up to Gretna, Penrith's putting on a good show in the KFC car park from about 5.00 onwards.
