[QUOTE="Enji, post: 1838488, member: 72509"] Went out in the evening a few days ago, trying to locate a Quail... saw two birders standing by the field and figured they either located the Quail or had found the male Montagu's Harrier that was around. Got out of the car and had them pointing to the fields. "Pallid Harrier!" The bird flew around us, flying almost falcon-like and fast, very special. Phone calls were made, and it turned out some other birders had been there earlier and identified it as a Montagu's... well, we were pretty sure it was a Pallid (never seen a Montagu's fly like that), but doubt started to creep in... and the bird landed in the grass and didn't show again, and then the sun set. Well, I really don't like unidentified harriers, so went back the other day. No one else there, a bit peculiar since I thought several birders would want to go to have a look (later found out that many had instead opted to search for the satellite tagged Greater Spotted Eagle Tõnn). Found the bird immediately, snapped some pics, decided that it did indeed look good for a Pallid, but since I'd never seen a Pallid I wasn't entirely sure. Went home, posted the pics, and indeed, it was a 2cy male Pallid. Nice!
