I am living in Rural Wales UK on an isolated mountain top
Recently I have become, extremely, concerned about a black bird, that has decided to build her nest directly in front of my cottage, on a pile of logs !
Being a great lover of nature, I have the habit of picking up pine cones and other such like treasures on my solitary mountain walks. .. I collected rather a large amount of cones, quite somewhile ago, which had fallen to the ground, still attached to their branches. Placed many in a bowl in my lounge, the rest I left, innocently, ( or so I thought ! ) sprawled across the log pile....
Lately, most unfortunately, a black bird has taken up residence, under the pine cones, and installed a nest, eggs and all !
Every time I venture near by, ( which is difficult not to do ) black bird flies out in haste from beneath the branches, and I feel most extremely guilty for causing the poor bird such distress.
More worrying still, I have a cat...and, naturally, she likes to wander into the garden too ....
I have uploaded pics where the nest, with several little blue eggs can, clearly, be seen.
What on Earth am I to Do ! ?
Seems the black bird, and her nest, are doomed ...
Please, advise ASAP !
( I have endeavoured to upload photos, however, I do not understand how to use the format here... )
