...also the white leading edge to the wings is a giveaway at a glance.

To add to the confusion , the scientific name for Mediterranean Gull is 'Larus melanocephalus' or 'Ichthyaetus melanocephalus' which means 'Black-headed Gull' !

In addition Louise Med has a full hood rather than one that rises from front to back and Med also has a chunkier slightly β€˜banana’ bill:t:
