Blue Tits Following Jay (1 Viewer)

We had a Jay in the garden (suburban, South Coast UK) that was followed by 2 blue tits as it moved from tree to tree. Everytime it moved, the 2 tits would follow to the same tree a few seconds later and landed a few feet from the Jay. I can only think that maybe they had chicks in the area.

Anyone any idea what was going on ?
