This might be a little like "how long is a piece of string", but here goes anyway...
For a number of years we've had Blue Tits roost with us over winter, usually arriving late September and staying around 3 months. Sometimes returning to nest in spring.
This time one arrived as usual, September, but it's still here today. It's now into the 6th month!
So, the question is "is that unusual?". Certainly, in my limited experience it is.
I'm wondering what's made this one stay so long. Weather maybe, but we've had harsher winters.
I'd be interested in others' experiences.
