Blue tits (1 Viewer)

We have a pair of blue tits building a nest in a box we have put up, which is exciting. How long before they lay eggs and when do they fledge so we can jet wash our paving slabs. We usually do it in April but everything is on hold to give them a good chance of raising their chicks. Any tips would be welcome to ensure their success.

Thankyou

Margaret

They will build nests during March and April. The eggs are generally laid about the third week of April, give or take. They lay up to 10 eggs which are incubated for up to 16 days. The young tend to fledge after around 22 days.
