Update: I have continued online search, and come to some conclusions. 1 I think this is Prevost's Squirrel, the pluto form from Sabah. I hadn't realised this existed. Almost all photos online are of the tricoloured form. This Sabah pluto form is all black except for a deep red belly. 3. I'm going to go for Prevost's for this also. The photo isn't really good, and it's all I've got. 4. Logically, this black squirrel ought to be Prevost's also. But it was in the forest at Danum Valley. But it seems like we can see the belly here and it's black, not the deep red it should be according to the Internet for Prevost's pluto. Any ideas? 8, 9: This is Red (Giant) Flying Squirrel. 7. I now think this is a treeshrew, not a squirrel. The treeshrews on the Sukau list I found are Common, Large, Slender, Striped and Lesser. It was too small to be Common (and Wiki says it isn't found in Borneo at all), or Large, I think. It seems to me that the tail should be distinctive, but I can't find any online pictures of any treeshrew with a tail like this (in fact they all seem to have long skinny tails). Hmm! Can anyone help. 2. This should definitely be some other squirrel. 5. Looks like it should be really easy, but I have no idea. I'll carry on searching. Any ids or even helpful comments on what to look at will be welcomed.
