So decided to leave Somerset for sunny Devon this morning. Popped down to the hide at Bowling Green Marsh for a couple of hours. Some great spots today.

1 x Spoonbill
7x snipe
Little Egret
10 plus Black Tailed Godwits
2x Egyptian geese
Lots of Teal and Widgeon
Male bull finch
Nice number of pintail Ducks
Curlew in nice numbers
Tufted Ducks male and Female
Lots of Greylags
Cormorants
Avocet.

No sign of the Spotted Redshank though.

Cheers Stu

Dropped in today and had a great 30 minutes or so, highlight being 2 Spoonbill but also decent numbers of Avocets, Wigeon, Teal, Shelduck, Pintail, couple of Snipe, good numbers of Curlew, Brent Geese and lone GWE and Black tailed godwit from the platform, plenty more out there but no scope and tide was way out so hard to id

Used to spend a lot of time down by the Goat Walk, and in the old wooden hide before the local yobs burned it down. Take care matey.

Hi Mate. I have only seen the new hide its like a 4 star hotel lol. Maybe if you are back down this way we can meet up and take a walk around the reserve. It would be interesting to get some of the early history of the place.

Kindest regards Stu

If he is still alive, the chap who would know the history is Dave Hopkins but I've a feeling he has passed away.
ATB.
