I have had 2 Box-tree moths in the bathroom this week.

Crambidae
Spilomelinae
Cydalima perspectalis

I understand these have reached the south of England recently.

They've spread beyond the south now. Abundant in the London area. It was the second most numerous moth (after Square-spot Rustic) in the traps overnight at a west London monitoring site. Amongst them were 2 melanics which aren't uncommon.

The Eygptian Goose of the moth world then?

Probably a lot less welcome if you have a box hedge or balls in your garden. Pretty moth though which I can enjoy as I don't have any box in my garden but a nearby hedge + small specimen plants look positively skeletal!
