Back in 35mm days I had a succession of second-hand Canons bought from local camera shops, mainly because the price of second-hand Nikon kit was generally higher and I was on a budget. When I went D-SLR I'd already sold my Canon kit on ebay so starting from scratch I bought Nikon as I preferred the handling to my brother's 350D (I agree - they were too small really for my big mitts). Had always had a thing about Nikon kit and so it was great to finally have some, but I still really like Canon stuff - my brother has a 40D now and that is a NICE camera!The 'defending your purchase decision' really must be a big reason for the fanatical attitude of some people, but I think that clan instincts kick in too - people want to be part of a group and it doesn't really matter what it is: football, religion, cameras, cars, games consoles, even computer operating systems. Join a club and defend it against opposing views is a common theme and acidic discussions on internet forums are the rallying call. I must admit it's hard not to be drawn in sometimes, but I try to avoid those discussions when I can!It's all very |=o|</blockquote>
