Message: <blockquote data-quote="deborah4" data-source="post: 1406688" data-attributes="member: 29880"><p>Well Pabs did say he had a call from several 'experienced' birders questioning the ID on this bird: median stripe, contrasty appearance etc .  So presumably it was seen by a few people.  So maybe you are correct.  However, I would have thought the bill size/shape immediately would have told them this particular individual wasn't a Little Bunting - (along with lack of post-auricular stripe, lack of black malar stipe, lack of rufous on cheeks etc and general size) .... any possible LB in the area more likely to have been confused with a female Reed Bunting than a CB surely but if a possible LB had been reported earlier, perhaps it made them look twice at every bunting in the area!?</p></blockquote><p></p>
