Camel Estuary, Cornwall (2 Viewers)

Just to emphasize how deceptive some images can be; would anyone care to take a guess as to the identity of this bird near the Camel Estuary yesterday?

Amble Marshes this afternoon, birds included female Gadwall with 7 ducklings still, 6 Green Sandpiper, 30+ Pied Wagtail with 1 Flava sp (female) 2 Spotted Flycatcher, 2 Jay and 10 Little Egret.
 
A pair of Swan with 3 cygnets by the rugby pitch most days this week. One of the cygnets is white or near white as opposed to its 2 siblings.
 
Male Greenfinch in the garden at Wadebridge this morning, showing a red-brown tinge to mantle.

Amble Marshes this evening (problem dogs present 17:50 - 18:10) some Mallard now flightless! (photo) Birds included Gadwall + 7 Ducklings still, 4 Eurasian Teal, 2 Northern Shoveler pair, 4 Lapwing, 5 Green Sandpiper, 200+ Black-headed Gull with 32 Juveniles, 10 Mediterranean Gull ( 4 ad. 3 2nd summer, 1 1st summer, 2 juveniles.

Amble Marshes this evening, birds included 1 Little Ringed Plover, 6+ Green Sandpiper, 6 Greenshank, 7 Black-tailed Godwit, 9 Lapwing, 3 Common Snipe, 2 Dunlin, 7 Stock Dove, 200+ Black-headed Gull, 5 Mediterranean Gull, Gadwall brood of 7 and 6 Eurasian Teal.
 
16+ Puffins off the Rumps this morning, good numbers of Guillemeots, Razorbill, just an occasional Gannet and Manx Shearwater. 3+ Harbour Porpoise. The sea is thick with jellyfish in places.
 
Juvenile Common Swift showing broad white fringes to underwing-coverts (photo) and this tricky ID Swift (photo) over Wadebridge last evening and again at times this morning, showing underwing coverts darker than underbody in all light conditions and blunt wing-tips, not as extensive a whitish throat as you would expect for a Pallid though still pale headed.

There are some worn faded adult Common Swifts around at this time of year, though not showing this blunt wing-tip pattern (photo)

Green Sands

10 green sandpipers and one Common at Walmsley this evening.
Place was alive with them calling and flying all over the place. They did however all pitch down on the mud for a role call!
