Morning chaps,
Wandered down LPC yesterday afternoon. Very quiet.
31 Redshank (Sea Mills), 14 Greenshank (12 at Sea Mills), 11 Egrets, 2 Mallard, 1 Oyster, 2 Mutes, 2 Curlew and the only gulls were again at Sea Mills and notalotofthem.

Did the WeBs count today, the estuary was almost devoid of life. Highlights are listed below;
Yellow-legged Gull - 1 first winter
Mediterranean Gull - 12
Little Egret - 54
Greenshank - 5
Bar-tailed Godwit - 4
Kingfisher - 4
Peregrine - 1
Lapwing - 151
Common Sandpiper - 1

One of the fisherman did say that he watched an Osprey this morning, but it did not put on a show while I was about.

WEBS Count: Outer estuary yesterday: 1 Egret, 2 G.B.B.G., 1 Shag, 1 Corm, Oyster 36, Curlew 1, BHG 2, Herring G. c.200 (53+c.150 on Doom Bar).
Wadebridge Comp School playing fields usually attracts significant numbers of Wagtails. Notable influx of white waggies today.

Walmsley Sanctuary this Morning, birds included Redwing, Gadwall, Shoveler, Wigeon, Teal, Water Rail, Kestrel and 20+ Common Snipe.

Dinham Flats this afternoon, birds included 80 Golden Plover, 100+ Lapwing, 5 Common Shelduck, 16 Greenshank, 2 Common Gull, 10 Mediterranean Gull ( 5 adult, 2 2ndW, 3 1stW.) 2 Pintail, 3 Common Sandpiper, 66 Redshank, 1 Whimbrel and only one Dunlin.

Walmsley Sanctuary this morning, birds included one Garden Warbler feeding on blackberries (a Garden Warbler spent last winter around Wadebridge) 2 Pintail, 3 Water Rail, 6 Stonechat, 2 Yellowhammer, 1 Gadwall, 2 Wigeon and 30+ Common Teal.
One Migrant Hawker Dragonflie.

Treraven Meadows this afternoon, birds included one Water Pipit, 2 Greenshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, 3 Common Sandpiper, 11 Common Snipe, 21 Northern Lapwing, 25+ Meadow Pipit.

The colour ringed Greenshank from the Ythan Estuary Scotland, was present today on Dinham Flats and has been for the past week. Also 3 Pink-footed geese briefly this morning.

Walmsley Sanctuary this morning, Garden Warbler still on blackberries, this individual shows distinct growth bars on a shortish tail. Plus one Whinchat! 4 Fieldfare, 40+ Redwing, 4 Mistle Thrush, 10 Wigeon, 3+ Water Rail and 3 Stonechat.

2 Water Pipit and 2 Green Sandpiper at Treraven Meadow this afternoon. 23 Black-tailed Godwit, 7 Wigeon and 20+ Teal at Clapper Marshes.

Low wader numbers this morning at Dinham Flats, only 3 Dunlin, 1 Knot, 4 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Black-tailed Godwit, 3 Ringed Plover, 26 Golden Plover, 30 Lapwing, 1 Whimbrel, 1 Common Sandpiper,70+ Common Redshank, 10 Greenshank, 29 Wigeon, 1 1stW Mediterranean Gull and 5 Common Gulls.

Clapper Marshes this afternoon, 1 Northern Pintail, 7 Wigeon, 20+ Teal, 5 Common Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpiper, 26 Black-tailed Godwit, 12 Curlew and 1 Water Rail.

Walmsley Sanctuary this morning, a Grey Phalarope flew around the pools several times before flying back towards the estuary. Other birds included 1 Whinchat and 1 Water Pipit still, 4+ Water Rail, 2 Tufted Duck, 2 Northern Pintail, 3 Northern Shoveler, 16 Wigeon, 80+ Teal, 90+ Common Snipe, Fieldfare, Redwing, Mistle Thrush, Reed Bunting, Meadow Pipit, 60+ Curlew.
2 Migrant Hawker Dragonflies.
From the Burniere Hide, 3 Ruff, 80+ Dunlin and a Water Rail.

Early this afternoon on Treraven Meadows a splendid adult Yellow-legged Gull was watched preening and washing in a mixed flock of Herring and Lesser Black-backed Gulls. It flew off after 15 minutes with a Lesser Black-back toweards Polbrock. Two adult Mediterranean Gulls were also present.
A single Water Pipit was noted feeding at the pool edge as were 3 Common Sandpiper, 2 Green Sandpiper, 4 Lapwing, 11 Pied Wagtail and 2 Grey Wagtails.
A total of 3 Kingfishers were noted between Guineaport and Bridge Bike Hire.

This afternoon at Treraven Meadow, birds included 3+ Water Pipit, 20+ Meadow Pipit, 1 Common Gull, 3 Dunlin, 1 Redshank, 2 Green Sandpiper, 2 Common Sandpiper, 1 Greenshank, Fieldfare, Redwing, Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail, Pied Wagtail and Little Egret.
At Town Bridge Wadebridge, 4+ Common Sandpiper and 1 Ruff.

Walmsley Sanctuary this morning, good numbers of duck with 150+ Wigeon, 200+ Teal, 1 Northern Pintail, plus 25 Black-tailed Godwit, 1 adult Mediterranean Gull, 8 Common Snipe, 6 Stonechat, 1+ Water Pipit, 1 Sparrow Hawk, 4 Reed Bunting and a Garden Warbler still, near the old hide.

This morning at Treraven Meadow, birds included 2 Water Pipit, 3 Rock Pipit ( A.p. littoralis) 2 Green Sandpiper, 3 Common Sandpiper, 7 Common Redshank, 2 Stonechat, 3 Grey Wagtail, 20+ Meadow Pipit.
A Stoat was watched hunting close to the Camel Trail.
