For me the legend on the thumbnail says "Screen Shot 2021-05-7"Date?
5th July or 7th May?For me the legend on the thumbnail says "Screen Shot 2021-05-7"
I'm relatively sure that it was not taken on July 5th 2021. 😉5th July or 7th May?
Americans love to confuse by using a different date configuration to everyone else!

That will confuse any and all European viwers who are not computers. This format (year first, with dashes) is unambiguous. It's not a traditional date format, it's one used by computers. The year first, then the month, then the day of the month. That way, sorting alphabetically also sorts chronologically.
How do I know I'm not speaking to Dr Who?I'm relatively sure that it was not taken on July 5th 2021. 😉
If it had been dated 2020, I would have said May 7, 2020, after I said 2020-05-07.How do I know I'm not speaking to Dr Who?
I get that but were it dated 2020, it would confuse all non US readers who now use the metric date system
Year-first dates are not American form. American form does not use dashes, and has the year last. Year first with dashes means ISO 8601 form. That will confuse any and all European viwers who are not computers.
Anyone here who is unfamilar with American form, looking at photos with that date configuration, will assume 5th July.
This is certainly correct. This format (year first, with dashes) is unambiguous. It's not a traditional date format, it's one used by computers. The year first, then the month, then the day of the month. That way, sorting alphabetically also sorts chronologically.
As far as I'm aware, that's either the file upload or last-edit date/time - not the photo-taken date. Hence, for ID purposes, it's to be ignored. For me the legend on the thumbnail says "Screen Shot 2021-05-7"
