Canon PowerShot SX50 HS replace? (1 Viewer)

I have had this camera for some years and never use it. I don't take pictures with anything but my cell these days. With my memory I just cant remember all the digital menus, what the white box is for vs the green box etc. because I dont use it enough. I had an old Lumix which was not quite as complicated I wish I still had (had an amazing leica lens).

Experience tells me that newer cameras are probably even more complicated and I should just sell this and not try to find a replacement. Maybe put the money towards a new spotting scope.

Unless there are new bridge camera options with good zoom for old folks with bad memories?

Are these still worth anything?

The SX50 is one of the best superzoom ever made. If yours is actually next to brand new, it would be in pretty good demand out there on the used market.

But I'd say that with the memory settings, C1, C2, you can pretty much set the settings how you want them and then forget it. There is a giant SX50 thread in here that would give you some great ideas on settings for those two memory settings. It's worth an hour or so to set up those two memory settings to get them how you like then and then literally forget it.

While I now use the SX70, I have it set up like I had the SX50 set. C1 is for everyday use. C2 is for wildlife photography and zooms out on turn-on and focus, etc.. is set to pinpoint a bird in a bush.

Think about it. Set it once on these two memory settings and then don't play with the settings again.

Been awhile but thank you. I'm going to call the local camera shop. I think they'll do an hour class? Help me set those up explain some things.
