I've used the sx50 now for a week and what a joy - it's all so fast and easy.  I've gotten pics that were impossible to get with the scope and taken over a dozen which I posted on my gallery.  For small birds under 30' it does an incredible Job. I didn't believe posts that said no tripod needed but now I do.I do miss the long range capability and after the fun has worn thin I plan to get the old gear out but one things for sure, the sx50 will be included.  Many thanks to all who put this thread together.</blockquote>
