I should patent this idea........... Last year when I was in the states I popped in to one of those massive sports shops where you can buy everything from a baseball bat to a fishing boat, browsing around the outdoor clothing section i came across what can only be described as a set of disposable realtree camouflaged waterproofs, extremely lightweight and made of somthing that resembles a cross between a J cloth and a kitchen wipe. Any how, long story short, bought them for $39.00 whilst the jacket was a good fit the trousers looked like they were tailored for Coco the clown and needless to say have never been used. In a flash of inspiration i tried the elasticated ankle around the lens hood of my Sigma 500/4.5 and its was a superb fit, 10 mins later and with a pr of scissors one leg is off, been modified and has become a waterproof cover for my lens and camera, obviously had to open the seam to get past the lens mount which was soon repaired with self adhesive velcro. I'm just working on the camera end now to see it I should keep it long to hide my head then I'll try to use the other leg as a tripod cover! I'll post a picture when I get a mo. The suit was made by Driduds and looking at the jacket the sleeves would suit a smaller lens!! So is you fancy making a cheap camouflage waterproof lens / camera cover and have access to Driduds products cut away.....................
