Yesterday - Common Crane at Burton then later over Seaforth (Lancs); Surf Scoter at Hoylake; Laughing Gull at New Brighton; 6 Black-necked Grebes, 14 Chiffchaffs, Cetti's Warbler and Willow Warbler at Woolston Eyes; 2 Black-necked Grebes at Tatton Mere; Ring Ousel, White Wagtail, Green Woodpecker, Willow Warbler, Whimbrel, Short-eared Owl, Cetti's Warbler and Tree Pipit at Red Rocks; Whooper Swan at Frodsham; 2 Tree Sparrows, Sandwich Tern and 18 Brent Geese at Hilbre; Little Ringed Plover, 6 Willow Warblers and 9 Wheatears at Leasowe; Brambling and Common Scoter at Budworth Mere;

Highlight however was several Ospreys with sightings from Hoylake, Thurstaston and Burton Mere Wetlands plus another satellite tracked bird passed thru' East Cheshire unseen;

Today - 7 Surf Scoter, Velvet Scoter, 10,000 Common Scoter, 3 Sandwich Terns and 2 Long-tailed Ducks at Hoylake; Laughing Gull and 8 Purple Sandpipers at New Brighton; 5 Goldcrests, 8 Twite, 7 Chiffchaffs, 6 Willow Warblers, 22 Wheatears, 2 White Wagtails, Yellow Wagtail and 200 Meadow Pipits at Leasowe; 2 Black-necked Grebes at Tatton Mere;

Todays highlight was a Ring Ousel influx with 3+ at Hilbre with singles at Hale (also 3 White Wagtails and Sedge Warbler), Frodsham and Birchwood (Warrington);

It was raining Ouzels at Red Rocks this morning... I laid bins on 6 (3 of which were silent) and failed to see one bird/flock that was calling loudly. Raining Wheatears too

Redstart is about right, Hobby a little early and Yellow Wag about right.

Yellow Wag over Red Rocks this morning but not much else except 2 merlins doing a food pass

Today - 5 Surf Scoter (now 9 different birds in total so far), 4 Velvet Scoter, 2 Long-tailed Ducks and Black-throated Diver at Hoylake; Black Redstart, 8 Wheatears, 4 White Wagtails, c10 Chiffchaffs and c10 Willow Warblers at Leasowe; Great White Egret at Mickle Trafford; Ring Ousel and 9 White Wagtails at Red Rocks; Common Scoter, 2 Yellow Wagtails and White Wagtail at Budworth Mere; 25 White Wagtails at Hale Head plus 15 White Wagtails and 2 Yellow Wagtails at nearby Carr Lane Pools; 4 Wheatears and 3 White Wagtails at Hilbre; White Wagtails at Houghton Green Flash and Poynton; 2 Egyptian Geese, Reed Warbler and 11 Ruff at Burton Mere Wetlands;
