on 3 Oct I saw many raptors migrating thru Changdao in Shandong.On 4 Oct it was rather quiet but we saw a male Alexander Parakeet flying over--from the feral population in Japan?

There's also a feral population in Hong Kong, so it could be from there (thanks to a recent typhoon).

400+ Rufous-tailed Robin and many other birds in Rudong yesterday，after the cold front.
also a flagged NG and the reply is:

We (DNP team) flagged only two Nordmann's Greenshanks at Ko Libong, Southern Thailand since 20 and 23 March 2011. There are about ten Nordmann's Greenshanks at Ko Libong at that time.

till now in the Spooner survey more than 1000 NG have been surveyed incl. one from Thailand and the other from Indonesia.

we can expect the whole population of DPelican,NG,Spooner to use Rudong area as their staging site esp in autumn.
a pity that we didnt see that Spooner with flag from breeding ground and thus no chance to read the code on it.
Next to the pelicans two BFSpoonbill banded in south Korea,and 5 OStork etc

when there are woodcock everywhere,it's not difficult to see one on the mudflat and when the tide pushes them into high tide roost,they just sit with waders on open mud and among them we even saw a Yellow-legged Buttonquail and Japanese Quails.

Amazing... I've never seen a Woodcock in a high tide wader roost!

they are just tired.They can rest at any places eg. the seawall.They dont need a bush to hide,although some of them can find one.
