Cinnamon Weaver - new for OPUS (1 Viewer)

I was birding on Tuti Island this morning and had my first ever sighting of a Cinnamon Weaver. Luckily it showed quite well and I was able to get some decent photos. There are no photos in the OPUS - indeed I have never seen any pictures anywhere on the internet, despite searching. It is a more attractive bird than I was expecting, with a lot more yellow on the belly and vent. This was formally known as the only endemic of Sudan, but the country split into two separate countries in July and it is known from both Sudan and South Sudan.

Species: Cinnamon Weaver Ploceus badius
Location: Tuti Island, Khartoum, Sudan.
Date: 16th September 2011
Photographer: Tom Jenner
