Hi All
Found this critter by the side of a small stream. After searching high and low I think I have narrowed it down to being a Click Beetle, maybe
Athous haemorrhoidalis?
Could someone confirm the ID please?
Yours, Gareth

That's what I would call it Gareth but I'm a long way from being an expert. I'm seeing a lot of them at the momentRP_000784.jpg

Thanks Paul. Is there much variation? The thorax of mine seesm really dull whereas a lot of the pictures seem to show it being a shiny black.
Yours, Gareth

Thanks again Paul for sharing your knowledge. I use naturespot quite a bit because I find it easy to use and Leics & Rutland are not far away.

Yours, Gareth
