Coal tits - how do i help fledglings if not many shrubs for them to hide? (1 Viewer)

Hi! I have a nest box up and a pair of coal tits have nested there and are now rearing their young.

It is lovely seeing them bring food constantly to the chicks, ive put feed out to supplement and soaked meal worms for them today which they have started to help themselves to.

We have not long lived in the house and its the first time the nest box has been used. Whilst at the moment lots or forget-me-nots are out in the borders, grass and other annuals theres not many shrubs. I am worried with all the cats and foxes in the area if they will survive when they leave the nest. Is there anything I can do to help then when they fledge or any recommendations on how i can provide places for them to hide to make up for lack of shrubs at the moment?

Thank u!
