Update I got my first 10x after trying many and it is…. Trinovid 10x25 bca

On my scale it weighs only 241g. Considered ultravid too but ultimately went with trinovid, partly because i like the classic name/design.

I was more than a bit surprised how well my old Leitz 8x20 holds up alongside the Ultravid. Definitely can't replace it, but it's nice having them both.

If dabbling in astro becomes more serious, then some higher powers that bridge hand-held to mounted:
  • Zeiss 10x42 Victory SF; Noctivid 10x42
  • Fujinon FMT 10x50; EL 10x50; WX 10x50
  • NL 12x42; EL 12x50
  • Maven 15x56
  • Nikon 18x70 Astroluxe
