With the previous editions the two different sizes for the hard/softback versions made having both a sensible purchase. The PB is great as a field guide, the HB is great to use at home. But the small-sized HB new edition is heavier than the PB, not a good attribute for a field guide but it looks as if it'll have the same quality of text and images as the PB - so no advantage over the PB there.I reckon I can put up with the old version until March rather than paying out for the HB.</blockquote>
