Common buzzard or Northern Goshawk (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
I saw this impressive bird of prey during my hike this morning. Is it "just" a common buzzard or something else? I am a bit irritated since I thouht buzzards are more brownish, while this fellow was more greyish and bright.
I am located in the western part of Germany.
Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

Looks like a buzzard to me. They can be quite variable in colour with light / pale "morphs" like your pictured one.

as Tim100 mentioned, Buteos are quite variable in plumage colour.

The relatively tiny bill is a good pointer to Buzzard for a 'beginner'.
