Common/Hoary Redpoll - Michigan, USA (1 Viewer)

Spotted this redpoll in with a flock of Commons at Whitefish Point a few weeks ago. I've passed it off as a Common but wanted to double check. Although not as pale as a confirmed Hoary spotted later, this individuals was a fair bit paler than the surrounding Common Redpolls. Thoughts?

I'm not sure on this bird. Bill looks quite small to me, and the back/rump area is pale, but we can't see the undertail coverts and I'm not sure if the flank streaking is extensive enough.

Curious to see what others think.

This is one of those classic in-betweeners. They are usually considered Commons I think, but I’m not experienced enough with them to know the spectrum well.
