Common Scoter Behaviour (1 Viewer)

Always finding a way to go off topic...
United Kingdom
Hi all, I was at Cley NWT in North Norfolk, UK, on Saturday and I was heading back from a disappointing gull roost, and I noticed that the 800+ strong flock of common scoter's decided to get up off the sea and procede to fly around in a big circle for about a minute before landing on the sea again. Is this something they do before they roost or is it something else?

Kind regards

Evan
