Common Terns - West of Bangkok earlier this morning (1 Viewer)

Dear Members and bird watchers!

I passed a pond this morning and there must have been around 50 terns flying around. I never seen Terns like this before. Black cap and black bellies. Black bills and black feet.

Nothing like this in my book. Looking at my very poor picture, it have been like a 12 months rainy season here. So it was very dark this morning.

Coming home looking at the pictures I see (marked with rings in the picture) that the bills on some birds are dark red. Can this be Common Terns that have been swimming in black water? The area is farm lands so there is a lot of muddy water in rice paddies and fish ponds.

Kind Regards
Aladdin
