Egyptian Goose on Tapenhall pool this morning - possibly the same bird that normally hangs out around Chatley.

Great to see the Eyed Hawk Moths in Coney Meadow this morning. Also saw an Emperor Dragonfly and my first Large Skipper of the year.
The Terrapin was sunbathing on a log just west of Salwarpe village.
A Cuckoo was calling around Ladywood.

The usual Warblers including Lesser Whitethroat singing at Coney Meadow.

Rufous phase female Cuckoo just flew over Egg Lane being pursued by 2 males

Little Owl back (09.00) in the recently cropped horse paddock. Flew out of the oak and was sat on the 8th fence post up from the tree

Nice one! Just seen 2 Little Owls in the Oak tree at Linacres paddocks - look like young birds.

My first Marbled White of the year near Chawson Lane allotments this morning.

4 Red Kites together just north west of Salwarpe village - a new patch record count for me. Following a tractor with loads of gulls and Buzzards.

Single Red Kites seen elsewhere earlier.

Hobby over near New Mill and Knight's Grove.

2 Grey Partridges sinton Lane plus Yellowhammers.
Kestrels and Sparrowhawk
Painted Lady, Large Skippers and Marbled Whites plus Meadow Browns

This evenings highlights. Grey wagtail busy feeding 4 fledglings, family of pheasants, House Martins flying low over Reed bed plus low over head. Close to 40 birds seen or heard

This morning between 4 & 3 ...Barn Owl hunting low over meadow back of fishing pools. Grasshopper Warbler briefly (grainy pic), Buzzard hunting in same meadow & Red Kite over 4. Numerous Reed Warblers & Buntings. 2 Kestrels, Green & GS Woodpecker
